OrthoSelect To Launch New DIBS AI Software

OrthoSelect, an innovative orthodontics software company and digital orthodontics laboratory, announces the upcoming release of its new DIBS AI™ software, which will debut at the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) 2020 Virtual Experience on May 2, 2020.

OrthoSelect has identified the need to significantly improve the way orthodontists create robust treatment plans as well as the requirement to increase the precision and speed of bracket placement.

In response to this need, the new DIBS AI integrated software and hardware platform has been developed to largely automate the process of patient case setups and treatment planning. In addition, the system speeds up precise bracket placement by using the latest in 3D-print technology to create transfer appliances (commonly known as IDB trays). These advancements will free up precious doctor time by decreasing the total number of patient appointments and overall treatment time. The benefits will be immense in accuracy, cost and time savings.

Utilizing thirty-two different algorithms and the latest in artificial intelligence capability, DIBS AI software uses standard STL files imported from intraoral scans to semi-automatically clean images, segment teeth and propose ideal bracket placement. Doctors can even choose their preferred stock bracket or select customized brackets for treatment tailored to their patients’ needs. Using cutting-edge predictive modeling, the software will then determine and display the case outcome based on the chosen treatment plan. Practitioners will have the option to print bracket transfer trays themselves in-house for same-day starts or export to OrthoSelect for rapid turnaround in the company’s lab facility.

Further, orthodontists will soon be able to offer their patients the option of aligners, braces or a hybrid solution—all from within the DIBS AI platform. This additional feature is planned for release in the second half of 2020.
