Following clinical protocols is crucial...and also the most neglected. Here are the common reasons doctors/staff struggle bonding with DIBS AI:
Trays are hard to remove:
The warmer trays are - the easier they are to remove! Typically staff are bonding too many tray sections at a time and letting them cool - resulting in stiffer trays and hard removal.
Be sure the practice is fully light curing the trays and not removing them and then curing some more. The heat from the light cure unit is needed.
Test the light curing unit and make sure it meets minimum recommendations for curing.
Getting Debonds:
Pumice & light cure the primer until it is tacky. Be sure to isolate properly.
Apply facial pressure on the brackets prior to curing - it will help eliminate any gaps between bracket pad and the tooth surface.
Excess Flash:
If gingival flash is occurring - there is too much adhesive on the bracket pad. Dial it back. Flash is ultimately a function of the amount used.
